Perched above Megève surrounded by beautiful snow-covered woodland, Chalet Petite Ourse is the perfect marriage of whimsical cabin-in-the-woods ambience and intelligent modern chalet design. Guests here can enjoy the secluded atmosphere, whilst still only being a short 5-minute drive from Megève’s renowned gourmet restaurants, bars and shops. With the nearest ski lift 2-minute’s drive away, you’ll also be able to maximise time on the slopes soaking up the beautiful landscape.
Entering the property to the first floor, you are welcomed by the spacious living area. Through the hall is the sitting room, with plenty of comfortable sofas to sink into, and a TV above the roaring open fireplace. Large, rectangular windows are perfectly placed to offer wide views through the snow-covered trees surrounding the property, and to the sloping mountainsides further afield.
Decorated in muted tones and light wood, the space has a Scandinavian feel, accented with curated artwork, luxe light fittings and beautiful quality finishes. The warm and inviting atmosphere makes for a wonderful space in which to entertain guests or spend some relaxing evenings with loved ones around the fire.
Adjacent is the semi-open dining room, seating up to 14 people in a cosy, warm and social setting, with picture windows inviting guests to gaze out at the gentle falling snow while they share meals together. A breakfast bar divides this area and the kitchen, giving a harmonious flow to the three interconnected areas.
The kitchen is paired back and modern, with ample surface space in sleek black marble, french doors leading out to the balcony and flooding the space with light, and stylish matte black fixtures. Keen chefs will find the kitchen well-equipped with quality appliances to cook delicious family meals.
Moving down a floor, you will find the main sleeping floor. This is comprised of two double bedrooms and one children's bunk bedroom, each of which has been tastefully decorated to promote a restful night’s sleep in calming surroundings. Muted colour palettes and light, alpine wood come together to create a chic and modern look, with each room boasting wall-mounted smart TVs, ample storage space and comfortable beds.
The first double bedroom has a lovely spacious bathroom, a separate WC and a dressing area. The second has a shower room and also a separate WC. The bunk bedroom sleeps three children, and boasts a convenient en suite shower room. Also at this level is the ski room, fitted with heated boot warmers and plenty of storage space for skis, boots and outerwear.
On the next floor down, there is a fantastic spa space with a stunning sunken hot tub positioned next to large sliding glass doors to the terrace, and with a beautiful relaxation area. Soak weary muscles post-skiing as the snow settles at your eye level outside. There is also a lovely hammam and a sauna, so you can enjoy a hotel-like pamper day from the comfort of the chalet.
The bottom floor houses the fantastic cinema room. Spacious and with a huge, plush sofa in turquoise velvet and a big screen on the opposite wall, you can enjoy cosy family movie nights together curled up here. Snacks and drinks are always within easy reach, with a convenient bar to the side of the room.
The master bedroom and a further three doubles are found on the very top floor of this exceptional chalet. Two of the double bedrooms have TVs, shower rooms and separate WCs, with one enjoying a spacious dressing area too. The final double has an en suite bathroom and balcony access, where you can sip your morning coffee and enjoy some fresh mountain air.
The master bedroom is a beautiful airy space, featuring a full dressing room, en suite bathroom, and TV. As with the rest of the property, each individual bedroom has been designed with relaxation in mind and to the highest specifications.
