The Mountain

Located in the heart of the Haute-Savoie region of France, the skiing in Megève forms part of the renowned Évasion Mont Blanc, an incredibly large ski area. This terrain is divided into three areas and delivers 445km of varied pistes, with many slopes offering spell-binding views of Mont Blanc. For beginner skiers or those who enjoy a genteel ski, the resort has many undulating tree-lined slopes.

Winter Events

Megève is one of only two resorts in the world that can proudly claim to host an international snow polo tournament. Each January, this spectacular event attracts teams of accomplished polo players, offering supporters hours of glittering entertainment. Sip champagne and nibble on bite-sized gourmet delights from Megève's finest chefs under starry skies as you watch the polo world's elite battle it out.

Summer Events

On July 18th 2016, Megève will welcome the world famous Tour de France to town. The riders will cross the finish line of Stage 18 in the centre of the village after a gruelling mountain stage. The tour will then roll out of the village for the start of Stage 20.

A highlight of the summer calendar is the Megève Edmond de Rothschild CSI*** International Show-Jumping Festival. Some of the finest equestrians from around the globe gather in July for six glamorous days of show-jumping in the village centre.

For music lovers, Megève presents the Megève Blues Festival. The sounds of bluegrass float across the flower-filled meadows for three magical days in early August.

Travelling to Megève


Megève is situated in the Haute-Savoie region of France with three major airports less than three hours away. In closest proximity is Geneva airport, which is only an hour's drive away. Chambery airport is 1.5 hours away and Grenoble is a 2-hour drive away.

Megève is close to Sallanches railway station, just 12km away, which allows easy access to Megève by rail from London, Paris, and other major European cities. There are direct trains from Paris to Sallanches at weekends and there are also direct trains to Sallanches from Geneva.
