Lech Aprés-ski

Summer in the Alps is the Ideal Retreat From the Hustle and Bustle of Daily Life

In summer, Lech optimises what an Alpine summer destination is all about. A stunning location with serenity and adventure in ample doses. Whether you want to relax and take in the mountain air with a day at the spa, or be more adventurous and hike one of the many challenging high alpine walks, it is all there waiting for you. Other great activities available are fly fishing in crystal clear waters, yoga retreats in the peaceful mountains, and both road and mountain biking through breathtaking scenery.

Fishing in Lech

Take fishing to a new level and cast your line in the emerald waters of Lake Formarin. Nestled in the mountains above Lech, at 1,793m above sea level, this tranquil lake is the ideal spot to while away the hours, take in the magnificent panorama and hopefully catch your supper.

Hiking in Lech

Hiking in Lech will take you through breathtakingly varied landscapes, along well-maintained trails and lead you to some of the region’s hidden treasures. Amongst the many hiking routes available there are three themed hikes. The Lechweg, certified as a Leading Quality Trail of Europe takes you on a journey from the source to the imposing wild river. The Tannberg leads you into the past of the Walser village of Lech. The Green Ring takes hikers on the trail of legends and stories through the stunning scenery of the region.

Golfing in Lech

For golf enthusiasts Lech and the surrounding area has some exciting offerings including playing host to The Golf Cup, a renownd amateur tournament. It is home to the highest golf course in Austria, 19-hectare, 9-hole golf course opened which opened 2016. Set amongst the stunning mountain scenery, it is a unique environment to test your golfing skills and the fairways have been designed so that players have to play over the Lech river several times.

Events in Lech

Winter Events

During the festive period, each evening, Lech dedicates its central square to a traditional Christmas market, where small chalet-style stands sell locally produced goods and the sound of choirs and brass bands resonate throughout the village.

Lech plays host to the White Ring ski race each year. This race has cult status in the region and sees competitors race each other over 22km of pistes and 5,500m of altitude.

Summer Events

An array of different events spread across the summer provides visitors to Lech with a selection of fabulous options in which to indulge themselves. Every August, the Lech Classic Music Festival takes place, with an abundance of concerts in the village and up in the mountains. At the start of August the mountains fill with the smooth soulful notes of jazz. An intimate festival which attracts internationally acclaimed artists.

For culture and art lovers there is the Festival LegeArtis, which showcases a diverse collection of art forms, painters, writers and music will all feature on the programme.

The end of June hears the mountain roads of Alberg enliven with the rumbling sounds of years gone by. The Alberg Classic Car Rally runs for four days and starts in the legendary Lech Canyon. A must for vintage car enthusiasts, it features an extraordinary line-up of definitive classic motors, dating from the Golden Twenties 1920`s right the way through to the 1970s.

Lech also has several world-class sporting events like the Gore-Tex ® Transalpine-Run and the Trans Voralalberg Triathlon.
