Kicking Horse has gained a reputation for its idyllic blend of adventurous skiing and superb snow conditions.
Once described as 'Heli-Skiing terrain that now has lifts', and sitting at the base of the longest vertical run in North America (a 10 km ride, aptly named 'It's a ten'), Kicking Horse attracts those seeking the ultimate champagne powder experience. With an average annual snowfall of 7 metres, 106 advanced, intermediate and beginner runs (piste and off-piste), and a host of thrill-seeking activities on offer, there is plenty here to entice every level of skier.
The Eagle Eye mountain-top restaurant offers splendid panoramic views across the Rockies, from its 2345m vantage point.
The Kicking Horse Mountain School is world class and has many varied programs to offer you. Their big mountain school offers off piste instruction and guiding, the perfect way to progress from the piste to powder and enjoy the hidden powder caches of the resort.
Our staff are very happy to advise you on the programs available and book these for you. For more information see the link below.

A charming mountain village, built with an elegant but rustic feel, reminiscent of much of the alpine architecture found throughout the Canadian Rockies.
The main lifts start from the base of the village where the day lodge is located and is the centre of the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort operation. Here you can buy your lift passes, kit yourself out with skis and boots, book your ski instructor or mountain guide and enjoy an apres ski drink or two.
With a choice of seven distinct restaurants, cafes, pubs and even a mid-mountain Yurt, Kicking Horse has a culinary experience for every palate. From fine dining at the Eagle's Eye or Corks, to a quick snack at the Horse Thief, the village and mountain establishments lovingly prepare everything from sushi to seven course meals.
As well as Heli-Skiing, Cat-Skiing and X-Country Skiing, we can organise more gentle activities for you. There are flight sightseeing tours, snowshoeing trips and a roaring outdoor fire pit at the base of the slopes to relax around. Kicking Horse is really suited to the adrenaline junkie with ice climbing, tubing and the extensive back country ski opportunities - it is a winter wonderland!
