The Jewel of the four valleys

Verbier is world-renowned for its incredible off-piste skiing, its south-facing, sun-drenched aspect, and its eclectic party scene

The mountain

Verbier is the jewel in the crown of the world-renowned Four Valleys ski area in south west Switzerland, famous for its extensive and varied piste network and as an off-piste mecca.

Rising 1,800m from the resort to an altitude of 3,300m, the ski area provides single-ticket access to the Four Valleys network with 95 lift installations, 410 km of pistes, and numerous patrolled off-piste itineraries for the more experienced skier.

Verbier is a village that is renowned for its nightlife and world class mountain and village restaurants. If skiing is not your thing, there are numerous other activities to keep you busy for the week while you enjoy all the comforts in one of our luxury chalets.

Ski instruction

There are a plethora of ski schools in Verbier. Bramble Ski is unique in employing in-house ski instructors to concierge for all our catered properties. We work closely with our Swiss ski school partner La Fantastique. Upon arrival in the resort, the instructors are on hand to help advise you on ski equipment. The concept is simple: they're there to allow you to get the most out of the resort, both in the village and on the mountain.

We also work with the other ski schools in the village if necessary for our guests' requirements. So whether it is beginner group lessons in English for children or specialised tuition in extreme off-piste settings, we're able to organise the instruction that is best suited.

Mountain guides

Verbier is world-renowned for its extensive and challenging off-piste skiing. There is no better way to explore the hidden powder caches, high altitude glaciers, and steep couloirs than hiring a guide for the day.

For the ultimate ski or snowboard experience, heli-skiing is also available. There are three high altitude drop zones offering some of the Alps’ most stunning views and rewarding descents. Petit Combin, Trient Glacier, and Rosablanche are all within a short flight.

Verbier village life

Verbier is consistently voted in the top ten global ski resorts for its combination of world class skiing, après ski, and nightlife.

With its beautiful wooden luxury chalets, it still has a traditional Alpine village feel yet offers a surprisingly wide range of shops, bars, restaurants, and clubs all conveniently located around the Place Centrale.

You can dance the evening away on the tables to the live bands at the Farinet Après-ski Bar or chill out and enjoy a cocktail on the terrace at Le Rouge, with a great deal more to choose from.

We are happy to help you organise a meal out on the chalet staff's night off, or if you are staying in a self-catered property, to assist with planning and booking a schedule of reservations during your stay. Verbier has a huge number of places to choose from, whether you prefer traditional Swiss cuisine served in a mountain cabane with a night-time toboggan back to your luxury chalet, or sushi served in a modern Japanese-styled restaurant, or a fine dining experience with ring-side seats at the chef's table, Verbier has something to offer for everyone.

Night clubs

Not only does Verbier boast the world famous Farm club favoured by European royalty, it is also the home of Verbier's Casbah and Etoile Rouge.

Winter activities

If you do not ski or you fancy a break from the slopes, there is so much to do in Verbier.

Indulge in spa treatments, yoga, massage, or swim. For an unforgettable experience, our heli partner, Heli Alps, offers a number of sightseeing flights in the mountains including tours of Mt. Blanc and the Matterhorn.

Winter related

Some of the winter activities you can participate in without putting on skis or a snowboard are: snowshoeing, husky sledding, ice-climbing, tobogganing trips.

Please speak in resort to your concierge or talk to our pre-arrivals manager to pre-book any of these activities.

Spa and fitness

Many of Bramble Ski's properties have their own private and shared spa facilities. For those clients staying in properties which do not, or if your requirements extend beyond the facilities in the chalet or apartment you are staying in, there are a number of options that are available for day use. The Cordée des Alpes hotel has a day spa with pool, sauna, hammam, and relaxation areas and offers many treatments, as does the W Hotel. Verbier also has a sports centre with an indoor swimming pool, one squash court, and a gym.

In case you can't get enough exercise out on the mountain, Wholey Cow has a small studio and runs spinning, TRX, pilates, and yoga classes throughout the week. We can also arrange for private yoga instruction or personal training in the comfort of your own chalet. Our ski concierges will be able to provide you with all the details on any of these options if you require.

Further afield

Martigny, 30 minutes away from Verbier, is an old Roman settlement and offers plenty of cultural sites to visit if you need a break from the ski resort life. Or, only an hour away by car, is the ancient Italian town of Aosta with it's beautiful old town feel, lined with cobbled streets and restaurants and gelato shops aplenty.

Summer in Verbier

The mountains hold an altogether different allure when you are surrounded by abundant green meadows strewn with wild flowers and dwarfed by snow-capped mountains.

The resort is significantly quieter in the summer months than over the winter and some of the activities that you can partake in are hiking, paragliding, photography workshops, and fly-fishing in immaculate mountain lakes and streams.

Biking in Verbier

The biking in Verbier is world class. For road-bikers there are some fantastic passes to climb into Italy and France; Verbier was the closing stage in the Tour de France in 2009. The cross-country mountain biking is fantastic too and, in August, the challenging Grand Raid sets off from Verbier on a gruelling 125km race that finishes in Grimentz. For those that prefer something a little less gruelling, electric bikes are available for hire. Finally, utilise the lifts to get your summer adrenalin fix with some terrifying downhill descents on offer. There is also a bike park.

Hiking in Verbier

Hiking in Verbier and the surrounding areas can take you to some truly breathtaking spots. With more than 500km of signposted paths in Val de Bagnes and the 4 Vallees, there are plenty options for all abilities. Hiking guides can be arranged to explore hidden routes, lead foraging tours, or guide over-night hikes with a stay in a rustic mountain cabane.

golf in verbier

Verbier has a magnificent 18-hole golf course with panoramic views of the Grand Combin.

Children's summer camps

Verbier has several summer camp options for children ranging from three to 17 years, including music camps, language camps, mountain adventure camps, and day camps. Offering life-changing experiences to encourage personal growth, inspire self-confidence, and develop teamwork.

Events in Verbier

Winter Events

Verbier's Place Central comes to life on New Year's Eve. The streets are flooded with New Year's revellers gathering at the centre of town to bring in the new year. The sky is filled with fireworks and popping champagne corks. If you would rather not be in the thick of it, the Farinet Lounge Bar has the perfect vantage point overlooking Place Centrale from which to enjoy the party. Please speak to your concierge about reserving tickets.

The Swatch Freeride World Tour Final is held in Verbier every year. It is the culmination of a winter of competitions where some of the world's best skiers and snowboarders gather to compete for the crown of the overall winner for the season. A spectacle of skill, experience, and fearlessness, watch the competitors tackle the imposing Bec des Rosses from the top of the Gentianes lift and then enjoy the street market and party in Verbier that follows.

Verbier Impulse Festival, a new addition to the calendar in 2016, is an free open air music festival held on the piste at 2,300m. The mountain backdrop sets the stage for an undoubtably unique festival, attracting Swiss and international musicians over the first two weekends in April.

Summer events

The highlight of the summer calendar in Verbier is the world renowned Verbier Music Festival. Bringing together many of the world's finest classical musicians for a two-week celebration which includes workshops, children's events, and open-air concerts.

Another event not to be missed is the Verbier International Show Jumping competition. Featuring some of Europe's greatest riders set against the back drop of the Combins, creating a unique equestrian experience.

During the summer there are also many festivals in the valley where you have an opportunity to witness local traditions and culture. The local population of the Val de Bagnes are particularly passionate about their cows, their cheese, and their wine. Throughout the spring, summer, and autumn months there are festivals and events to celebrate all of these. Most notable is the Raclette Festival in September, where local dairies showcase their cheeses.
