Summer in Provence

To begin our journey, let us transport you to summer time in the Provençal countryside. Here, you’ll find beautiful family villas discreetly nestled in a landscape punctuated by vibrant lavender fields, abundant vineyards and sunny olive groves. These homes are a perfect choice for a total escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life; retreats designed for laid-back family time in beautiful, secluded settings yet just a day-trip away from the elegant French Riviera.

Bastide M sits proudly perched atop a hill overlooking the panoramic expanse of the Luberon. The historic hillside settlement of Gordes is nearby, built with beautiful golden stone – which is reflected in the structure of the property itself. Inside, you’ll find modern design and carefully curated furniture pieces, including a lavish decorated pool table in the living area and stylish touches like the statement brass light fixtures.

Sleeping up to 16 guests, this property is an ideal choice for large family reunions under the warm Provençal sunshine. Laze on a comfy daybed by the sparkling blue pool and soak up the views, gather together to dine al fresco on the terrace or enjoy an evening game of pétanque with a glass of delicious regional wine in hand.

Summer in Ibiza

Lets leave the mainland and venture across Mediterranean waters to the rugged and beautiful Island of Ibiza. Known for its contrast, you’ll find lively nightlife, sleepy fishing villages and health and wellness retreats all on this small and diverse island in the Baleric archipelago. Life here is decidedly laid back, with a focus on one-ness with the stunning natural surroundings and the rhythms of the ocean.

Situated in the beautiful Ibizan hills but just a 10-minute drive to the beach, Villa Fleurie embodies classic yet modern Ibizan architecture with its cubic white washed facade and pillars supporting the aged wooden beams of the verandas. Large rattan outdoor lamps add a definitive island feel, as the palm trees around the deep blue pool sway in a balmy breeze.

Sleeping up to ten guests, this modern villa hides surprises around every corner, from eclectic pieces inspired by the owner’s travels, to the huge children’s play area and volleyball court, for memorable long afternoons spent together in the sunshine. Comfort and paired-back luxury are abundant here, and long hot days are to be spent wandering around the gardens as the children splash in the pool, or curled up with a cold glass of rose and a good book in a cool shady spot.

Nestled amongst fruit trees, Villa Antonella transports you to a tropical paradise just a stone’s throw from the ocean, with elegant and playful decor drawing its inspiration from Rio de Janeiro. Lush foliage is abundant around the sprawling gardens, and inside the theme of white, shades of blue and fun patterns certainly give that long lusted after holiday-feel.

Let the fresh sea breeze compliment family breakfasts on the wonderful veranda, and the sound of the waves accompany poolside naps under the dappled shade of the palms. A perfect choice for large family or friend groups, Villa Antonella sleeps up to ten people across five colourful bedrooms, a continuation of the tropical atmosphere. It is situated just a few hundred metres from the Niu Blau beach, nicknamed Bora Bora – perhaps due to its pristine golden sands and crystal clear waters.

Light, bright and full of bohemian charm throughout, this villa is the perfect island getaway. You’ll find subtle nods to traditionalism indoors, such as the statement wooden front door or the iron chandeliers, juxtaposed with modern architecture, massive windows and a very beach-y feel.

This villa sleeps eight, for a relaxing coastal escape with loved ones. Dip in the pool as you gaze out at the sparkling ocean, enjoy balmy barbecue dinners under the pergola or take a 5-minute drive to the stunning beach and sample fresh Mediterranean dishes at the best local restaurants.

Summer in Comporta

Hopping back to the continent, let’s head to the serene freguesia of Comporta on the coast of Portugal. This endless stretch of golden sandy beach on the Atlantic could rival any Californian offering, and dolphins leap from the breaking waves as groups on horseback gallop along the shore. However, it is a lesser-known holiday destination than the nearby Algarve, allowing it to remain a pristine natural paradise. As you venture slightly inland, you’ll find rice fields and pine forests – making for a varied and unique landscape.

Casa Donoma is a secluded villa hidden amongst the pines. A smattering of typical Comportan cabanas centred around the pool create the ideal environment for a retreat in nature with family or friends. Muted yet playful interiors invite you to unwind in the cool shade, beautifully designed to incorporate natural materials that tie the landscape in with ease. A bohemian, laid-back atmosphere is evident throughout, creating a truly peaceful and restorative environment.

The poolside bar alludes to delicious cocktails sipped under the Portuguese sun, if you are not tempted by the proximity to the gorgeous beach. Gather everyone together to enjoy an evening of family games on the balinese hut style veranda, as the chirps of cicadas fill the balmy evening air. This villa sleeps up to ten guests across five minimalistic bedrooms, which are a continuation of the calming atmosphere.

Just a little further inland, Villa Carragueira is an architecturally stunning villa in the heart of Comporta. From the immaculate landscaped gardens to the intelligent design that allows you to make use of every corner of this spectacular home; there is no better backdrop for an unforgettable summer escape. The sprawling grounds encompass a maze of paths that lead you through mixed grasses swaying in the coastal breeze, with cabanas and verandas around every corner allowing you to find the perfect secluded spot for a moment of peace.

Sleeping up to 14, it is ideal for reunions with family or friends. You’ll find a swimming pool and tennis, pétanque and volleyball courts on the property, perfect for entertaining guests. A short stroll through the neighbouring crop fields will connect you straight to the pristine sands of Praia dos Brejos, whilst a 13-minute drive takes you to the heart of Comporta village. Enjoy a slow meander through the streets passing colourful traditional buildings, some of which play host to hidden culinary gems where you can sample delicious Portuguese menus.
