ZERMATT

Nestled at the foot of the impressive Matterhorn, famously known as the “Toblerone Mountain” is a stunning authentic yet contemporary ski resort.  Zermatt prides itself in being “Carbon-Free” thanks to its electric buses and e-taxis giving the village a very sophisticated and cosmopolitan feel. With outstanding views out on some of the highest peaks of Switzerland, incredible skiing, cuisine and après ski, Zermatt may just be the holiday you didn’t know you needed.

EAT TILL YOUR HEART’S CONTENT

The food scene in Zermatt is second to none, with cuisine from all four corners of the world you definitely won’t go hungry. For a fine dining experience after a day exploring Zermatt, After Seven located in the Backstage Hotel is a world-renowned two-star Michelin restaurant, boasting exotic & fresh, yet down-to-earth cuisine. For food with a view, head to Brasserie Lusi & Terrace for French dishes and international classics, sit on the sun-soaked terrace and enjoy the unobstructed views of the Matterhorn. For those of you that have been craving Swiss delicacies, head to Say Cheese, and taste the delicious local Swiss fondues, raclettes and Valais dried meat platters. Finally, if variety is what you are looking for, the Schweizerhof Kitchen has an impressive menu, from Swiss classics to Italian pizzas made with homemade ingredients sourced from just across the border.

DRINK IT ALL UP

It wouldn’t be a worthy ski resort without an end-of-day drink in a buzzing après spot. Cervo located at the bottom of the Sunnega ski area offers delicious cocktails and unique DJ sets in a scenic and sophisticated setting. For something completely different, go experience Hennu Stall, with shot skis, fancy dress, and electronic music, for a Euro-style après you definitely won’t forget. Last on our list is Elsie’s Wine and Champagne bar, escape the crowds, sip on a chilled glass of champagne inside this cosy and elegant bar or sit al-fresco beside the heated lamps wrapped in a sheepskin blanket for some fascinating people-watching.

Not only is there a large amount of blue, red, and black runs, but there are also plenty of itineraries, these are guided off-piste runs, creating a perfect gateway for skiers wishing to challenge themselves in a new yet safe environment. Verbier is world-renowned for its freeride scene, with easy access into its steep, impressive couloirs, no hiking is needed to find untouched terrain. Heli-skiing is also an option, forget about the logistics, our concierge team will organise everything from skilled guides to delicious packed spreads, discover the four different drop-off points, ski fresh, untouched snow and make memories you won’t ever forget. 

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

On piste, there are some truly incredible restaurants, so much so that once settled in, the chances of skiing post-lunch are slim, unless this involves skiing straight into après… Chez Dany, situated in Clambin, a peaceful haven accessible via a guided off-piste run, is a stunning, classic yet chic food spot, get comfortable out on the sun-drenched terrace and share a truffle fondue paired with a cold glass of Provence rosé. Chey Dany is also accessible by snow-taxi, for a mountain meal at nightfall. Carrefour is another ski-in favourite, we recommend the Rosti Creblais, a Swiss rosti with tender local venison in a Café de Paris sauce. If you happen to have a free Sunday morning in Verbier, you may want to consider Chalet d’Adrien’s brunch, feast on the spectacular terrace with sweeping views of Verbier and indulge in what may just be the best brunch spread you have ever come across.

DOWNTOWN 

Once off the slopes, you may hear après calling, Farinets live music and DJs playing throughout the evening, will have you dancing on the shelves and singing at the top of your lungs. If you’re craving some you-time, why not book a treatment in the newly renovated, elaborate W spa and unwind before the evening’s events. For atmosphere and soul-satisfying food, Shed provides juicy burgers made with locally sourced ingredients, in a hip and cosy setting, make sure to order one of their tasty cocktails! In Restaurant La Cordée at the bottom of town, Chef Romain Maillot proposes a French-inspired culinary experience, sit by the open-plan kitchen and watch the chefs at work. 

Stay in NORTE 

Norte, an impressive 1,000m2 chalet houses up to 14 guests in six fabulous, luxury en-suite bedrooms, the top floor is dedicated to the master bedroom and the spa offers an indoor heated pool.
