St Anton celebrates the start of the season with the yearly ‘Aprés Ski Hits’ party. The world-famous Mooserwirt hosts one of Austria’s premium radio stations for their season opener, with plenty of live music too.
The end of each season sees the legendary Weiße Rausch, a Chinese downhill race from the Valuga ridge to the village centre. An epic 555 skiers, snowboarders, and telemarkers congregate for a mass start after the ski lifts close. The atmosphere is electric, both on and off the slopes, for this final flurry of the season.
St Anton offers numerous cultural fixtures with many traditional Austrian folk events throughout the summer. One such event is the St Anton village festival, where locals proudly parade through the streets of the village in traditional national dress accompanied by brass bands to celebrate the Alpine region.
St Anton also hosts the Mountain Film Festival in late August, where the industries’ elite meet to introduce their films and give an insight into their impressive experiences and adventures.
